Some days your body simply feels heavy – after long hours at a desk, a demanding week or for no particular reason at all. A lymphatic drainage massage is one of the gentlest ways to look after yourself: light, calm strokes, plenty of warmth and time that is yours alone. At Faircare in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, we offer it as a wellness massage for women only.

- 1 hr
Full-body lymphatic drainage works from the legs across the stomach and arms up to the upper chest. Light, rhythmic movements can help you feel lighter and calmer.
Lymphatic drainage in a nutshell
Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle massage technique. Instead of kneading firmly, the hands work with light pressure and even, rhythmic movements just beneath the surface of the skin, following the natural course of the lymph pathways in the body.
This calm is exactly what makes it special. Many women describe the massage as cosy, almost meditative – some even drift off to sleep. Afterwards, many feel lighter and more relaxed.
A quick look at the lymphatic system
The lymphatic system is a fine network of vessels and lymph nodes that runs through the whole body. It collects fluid from the tissue and returns it to the bloodstream. A lymphatic drainage massage works along these pathways – with movements so gentle that they feel more like calm stroking than a classic massage.
Where the technique comes from
Manual lymphatic drainage goes back to the Danish masseur Dr Emil Vodder and his wife Estrid, who developed it in the 1930s. Their idea was simple: gentle, even strokes can do a lot – without any force. Lymphatic drainage still follows this principle today.
The four basic strokes
Four hand movements are considered classic. They are performed slowly, in the same steady rhythm and with feather-light pressure:
- Stationary circles: calm, circular movements with the flat hand, often on the neck and around the lymph nodes.
- Pump stroke: a gentle pumping movement, for example on the arms and legs.
- Scoop stroke: the hand gently “scoops” towards the lymph pathways, mainly on the arms and legs.
- Rotary stroke: a soft, turning movement across larger areas such as the back and stomach.
How your lymphatic drainage at Faircare feels
Before the massage, we take a moment to talk: how are you feeling today, and what would you like? Then you lie down comfortably on the warm treatment bed, well covered, and we begin with light, rhythmic strokes.
The mood is calm and the light is soft – there is nothing you need to do except let go. Afterwards, feel free to stay lying down for a moment, enjoy a glass of water and ease back into your day.
Our options
- Full-Body Lymphatic Drainage: gentle strokes by hand, from the legs up to the décolleté – for a feeling of lightness throughout your body.
- Facial Lymphatic Drainage with BMS: fine vibrations from a device, combined with gentle hand movements – for a fresh, relaxed feeling in your face.
Not sure which option suits you? We are happy to advise you in person before your appointment.

- 30 min
Facial lymphatic drainage uses a BMS device along the eye area, cheeks and neck. Fine, even vibrations make the treatment especially gentle.
Wellness, not therapy
At Faircare, your well-being comes first. Our lymphatic drainage is a wellness massage and does not replace medical treatment. Medical lymphatic drainage, prescribed for health conditions, belongs in the hands of doctors and trained lymph therapists.
When to check with your doctor first
For most women, a gentle lymphatic drainage feels very pleasant. Please speak to your doctor beforehand if you are pregnant, have a fever or acute inflammation, have a known heart or vascular condition, or are currently receiving medical treatment. Just tell us how you are feeling in our short chat before the massage – and we will find the right way together.
Ready for a calm time-out? Book your appointment online or write to us via our contact page – we look forward to welcoming you.
